About Weeniebeans:
Charli Slade took the Weeniebeans reins in May 2026.
She is passionate about baby and child development, sensory exploration and early years education. She is also passionate about supporting individuals with SEND conditions, as well as partnering with and supporting local businesses and charities in the community.
She is married and met her husband in secondary school, and they both enjoy holidays to Iceland, Wales and Ireland. She loves animals, dogs and guinea pigs in particular, and has a Golden Retriever called Millie. She also attends dog training as a hobby in her spare time. She also has a passion for music and plays the Cello and Guitar.
She started out her employment path in Sales selling laptops and quickly became top seller. However, she really wanted to become a Jeweller. After attending Bucks New University and achieving her BA (Hons) in Designed Metalwork and Jewellery, she then went to work in several Jewellers and achieved her Professional Jewellers Diploma Level 2. Sadly the COVID lockdown changed the industry beyond recognition, so she decided to leave and be an office administrator for several years. She then had her daughter Freya in 2024.
Her life was flipped upside down in 2025 during her maternity leave when she lost her dog Amy to a stroke, then she lost both her mother and step-mother to Lung Cancer a few months later. It was an emotionally brutal year, and when her maternity leave came to an end she could not see how she could mentally cope with going back to a traditional working environment. She then decided to take a leap and purchase a baby sensory franchise and start selling sensory books instead.
When Weeniebeans was put up for sale in April she jumped at the chance to add more joy and fun to her life! After taking Freya to the sessions previously, she knew it was a fantastic experience and was very excited to start this new chapter.
Working with babies and young children has been incredibly rewarding. Meeting some wonderful parents and feeling such support and love from the community and regular attendees (as well as having such a fun-loving daughter) has been the best therapy she could have asked for!
